In order to do this you need buy a cable to connect your Quest 2 headset to your PC. The official Oculus version is rather expensive coming in at around . This Stouchi Quest link cable costs a fair bit less than that and does the exact same job.The cable is is the standard USB C 3.2 with a max transfer rate of 5Gbs and has a length of 16ft which is plenty if you are just sitting in front of your computer and is also long enough to play games in which some movement is required (just remember to set your boundaries in Quest). As its a USB C connecter, this will also charge your headset whilst connected so extending the length of your game playing experience. The cable works great and has plenty of flexibility in the cord. The cord itself is nylon wrapped for extra strength and to save on wear and tear. The connecters are very solid quality and should last a while.Overall, why pay the price for the official Oculus connecter when this one works just as well for less.I recieved the box damaged as the image attached looks, aside from that, it was well-packaged. Braided cables always last a long time, and this is fiber optic so the cable is lighter than a standard one (though still heavier than the official one due to braiding). But with the price it's better than the official oculus cable for sure. Fiber-Optic is lighter material and much faster speeds, though without a newer PC you won't notice the difference for the speed part, but think of it as future-proofing. It also comes with a USB-C to USB-A adapter, which is GREAT because the official one doesn't, and the vast majority of computers dont use USB-C yet anyway.Unfortunately the one I recieved was defective, I tried troubleshooting for hours to figure out what was going on, first time i tried it, It seemed to charge the oculus quest 2 properly. I had it into a 3.0 port and it seems to working to that end.On the Oculus Quest 2 itself, everytime I click "Enable Oculus Link" which SHOULD connect it to my PC, it just tells me "PC was disconnected". That was the red flag of my cable being defective. A few days later trying it again the Oculus Quest 2 wouldn't even recognize it was plugged in anymore, and wasn't even charging with it.Stouchi was quick to reply and offer solutions via refund or replacement. So worst case scenario (and presumably very rare scenario) you get a defective one like me, and they'll just refund you or send you a new one.But Stouchi Oculus Link Cable is best option if you want the higher-quality cable without paying the full for the official one. Also it comes with a lifetime warranty which is cool. It may appear excessive to spend on a cable for which there are capable alternatives in the range. Now you can save and still get an optical cable like the original Oculus Quest Link. Of course, here you also get “5 Gbps speed” and a “lighter cable”. As advertisement and progress go, a grain of salt is recommended when consuming these claims.Note: The “fiber optics” really only applies to the data stream in the cable. For that to work, the electrical signal of USB gets converted to light in the plug. Such design is generally referred to as an “active optical cable” (AOC). The foremost benefit is distance since speed is still dictated by USB.For starters, the claimed 5 Gbps are not usable by the Oculus Quest 2 as the speed test returns a consistent 2.9 Gbps when plugged directly into a Quadro RTX 5000. And the effective data rate is limited to 500 Mbps by the Oculus tool (Windows). However, to my surprise, this cable is the only one exceeding the typical 2.7 Gbps consistently. The second claim (weight) may use an outdated reference of 500 g for a same length copper cable. Compared to that, the Oculus link weighs in at a minuscule 208 g. That is also a few grams lighter than the original. However, none of my 16ft copper cables weigh anywhere close to the claims and one is even significantly lighter at 160g despite the same test results (2.7 Gbps). So, you’re really not buying performance or comfort. Unlike the Quest Link cable, which is the most flexible one I have, the Stouchi cable feels slightly stiffer than the original and most of my copper cables. That’s likely due to the rugged Nylon braiding. The 3A charging current allows for sufficient power to keep the Quest charged even during use.Note: The cable is not compatible with hubs and displays. I’m happy to report that the Stouchi Oculus Link cable works as advertised. Once I figured out how to set up the Oculus Link app, it was smooth sailing. The app recognized the cable right away and I didn’t get any errors. The cable itself is very high quality but thicker than I expected. The stiffness of the cable makes it a little uncomfortable to handle at times, but I don’t see how that aspect can be avoided. It’s 16-feet long so it needs to have heft to do it’s job properly and without breaking. If you don’t want to spend the money on an official Oculus Link cable, this is the one to get. This is a premium fiber-optic cable. If you want a cable that will give you everything you expect in the virtual VR Gaming world this cable will do it.This Stouchi Fiber-Optic Link Cable gives me super speed syncing, for playing my VR games.
